This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected and how it is processed when you use Phone Cleaner (package name: com.phonecleaner.app, the "App"). The App requires no account, and the developer does not collect or store personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
1. Photos & Videos (most important)
The App's core feature is analyzing your device storage to find duplicate and similar photos, screenshots, and large files, and helping you clean them up.
- On-device processing — All photo and video analysis (duplicate detection, similarity and quality scoring) happens entirely on your device. Your photos and videos are never uploaded or transmitted to the developer's servers or anywhere else.
- Minimal permissions — The App only uses the photo/video read permissions (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES/VIDEO). It does not use the all-files access permission (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE).
- Deletion always goes through your confirmation — Files are only deleted after the Android system confirmation flow. With the trash option enabled, deleted photos are kept in the system trash for 30 days.
2. App List & Usage Access
- Installed apps — For the "Unused apps" feature, the App reads the name, icon, install date, and size of launcher-visible apps on your device. This list never leaves your device. The QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission is not used.
- Usage Access (optional) — Only if you explicitly grant it in system settings, the App reads each app's last-used time and exact size to identify "sleeping apps". This information is processed on-device only and is never collected or transmitted. The App works without this permission.
- App removal — Apps are only uninstalled through the Android system's uninstall confirmation dialog.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
Your settings — theme, trash option, monthly reclaimed-space statistics — are stored only on your device and are never sent to the developer's servers. Uninstalling the App removes them.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your advertising ID, approximate location (IP-based), and device information to serve and measure ads. This data is collected and processed by Google; the developer cannot view it in a form that identifies individual users.
- Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Users in the EEA and UK see a consent flow (UMP) on first launch and can change their consent at any time.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
5. Feedback & Bug Reports
Only when you actively send feedback from the App's settings, your message, optional attached images, app version, and an anonymous device identifier are sent to the developer's server. This is used solely to respond to inquiries and fix bugs, and nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your Rights
Since the App stores no personally identifiable information, no separate access or correction procedure exists. Settings stored on your device can be fully removed by uninstalling the App or clearing its data. To request deletion of feedback you sent, contact the email below.
8. About the Cleanup Features
The App only suggests cleanup candidates — what gets deleted is always your choice, confirmed through the system dialog. You can preview and deselect items before deleting, and items requiring judgment (blurry or similar photos) are never auto-selected.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated content and effective date will be posted on this page.
